    • Maintaining three points of contact at all times (two hands and a foot, or two feet and a hand)
    • Climbing with your face towards the ladder
    • Avoiding the top step of step ladders
    • Using a tool belt or hoisting tools separately, not carrying them while climbing

Fall Prevention and Hazard Awareness:

    • Proper body positioning while climbing and working on the ladder
    • Avoiding overreaching and leaning too far to the side

2. Course Requirements

There are no prerequisites for this online course in ladder safety course. Students may have to complete review sections along the way and a final exam at the end of the course. You will need a computer or tablet with internet access and an email account. No text is required because all course materials are available online. The course will take approximately 1 hour to complete.

3. Passing the Course

To pass the course, employees must receive a score of 75% or better on the final quiz. The format of this final exam comprises multiple choice and true/false questions. You may take the quiz up to three (3) times to attain a passing grade. You will then receive a certification immediately upon completion that you can download or print.

4. Course Schedule and Deadlines

The course takes approximately one hour to complete. Employees may go through training in one sitting or in small segments to suit their schedules. The course is available for 30 days, during which employees can work through the instruction at their own pace. If they have not finished the course after 30 days, they will need to reenroll.

Accreditation, Certification and CEUS

After completing the course, a PDF version of your ladder safety certification will be delivered to your email account. You may share this certificate with your employer or state regulators as needed. If you’re in a continuing education program, this class provides one contact hour or 0.1 CEUs.
