Maintaining a safe and compliant environment is vital for individuals responsible for transporting hazardous materials. Our DOT Hazmat Employee/Entry Level Driver Training Course for Endorsement H & X DMV approved Course provides you with the necessary safety training. The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires this program to ensure hazardous materials are transported safely and according to regulations.
Who Should Take This Class?
As someone who transports hazardous materials, you’re required to take a United States Department of Transportation (DOT) training course as well as an Entry Level Driver Training course in order to get your hazmat endorsement H or X on your license. It serves as an initial and refresher for anyone who will be hauling hazardous materials on any public roadway within the US.
Our 49 CFR DOT Hazmat Employee/Entry Level Driver Training course will allow you to familiarize yourself with the concepts and procedures you need to promote a safe work environment. During training, you’ll learn about general awareness, safety procedures and security training for hazardous materials specific to your occupation.
Industries Requiring This Course
Industries involved in transporting hazardous materials, such as chemical manufacturing, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and waste management, require employees to have up-to-date knowledge of DOT regulations.
Getting your Endorsements at the DMV (H or X)
Once you pass this course with an 80% or higher, we will upload your ELDT certification into the DMV portal. You can go down to the DMV after completing this course so you can get your endorsement put on your license.
While these endorsements cover specific aspects of truck driving, the H endorsement is required to operate a vehicle that contains hazardous materials and the X endorsement is unique in that it is a combination endorsement for tank vehicles and hazardous materials. With an X endorsement, drivers can transport a variety of hazardous materials without the need for multiple endorsements and can transport hazmat in cargo tankers. A tanker endorsement permits you to carry liquid gas or hazardous liquid. Additionally, drivers with an X endorsement can transport these materials across state lines.
