Taking active shooter training is helpful to many people, whether as part of a job requirement or for your own education. Transform uncertainty into proactiveness through a reliable program prepared by experts.
However, before you look into active shooter training classes, there are some things you need to know, including the cost of training.
Different Types of Active Shooter Training
Training course costs largely vary depending on the type of training:
- In-person: If you prefer a more traditional form of learning, go for in-person training. Bear in mind that since you will be traveling to a physical location, you might need to consider the transportation expenses in addition to the course fee.
- Online: There are also courses designed for digital platforms. Choose online programs if you want the coursework and resources provided virtually. These training sessions tend to be more cost-effective since they don’t require a physical space or involve travel expenses.
- General: Corporate workshops are some of the common examples of general active shooter training programs. These are immersive courses to cater to private sector professionals, though they may be open to civilians as well.
- Specialized: Law enforcement agencies are tasked with stopping active shooters and saving lives. Their training is extremely detailed and involves tactical maneuvers that will not apply to most bystanders.
Other Factors Influencing Cost
Apart from training types, other aspects may impact the price of an active shooter course, such as:
- Training coverage: Multiple modules take more instruction time, increasing the course price. Plus, comprehensive content covers more detailed topics, which requires the expertise of highly qualified instructors.
- Training duration: The length of training, whether it’s a half-day, full-day or multiday program, also influences the costs. Longer courses require extra time and may involve the extended use of specialized equipment.
- Group size: Some training providers offer discounts for bigger groups. The availability of volume-based discounts or flat-rate packages depends on the course platform.
- Customization options: The price may be higher for customized courses because of the tailored content and additional resources involved.
