All material is written and developed by our safety professionals at Safety Compliance Management, who have ensured the course curriculum meet OSHA, DOT, and EPA training requirements.

  • KIRSTIE CHISHOLM
    KIRSTIE CHISHOLM E-Learning Manager

    Kirstie Chisholm is the E-Learning Manager at SCM Safety. She has been with Safety Compliance Management since March 2014.  Kirstie designs our online Hazmatschool.com training courses and handles the accounting and marketing for HMS. She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Safety Professional. Before working at SCM Safety, Kirstie has worked as a Customer Service Representative in private aviation as well as Visual Merchandising, giving her the opportunities and skills needed to interact with a variety of clients. Away from the office, Kirstie enjoys spending valuable time with her family and traveling.

      CECILIA LOMELI Remote Instructor

      Cecilia is our Remote Instructor at SCM Safety. She started with SCM in 2019. She assists our online students with everything from enrollments, course material questions, to accounting. Away from the office, Cecilia enjoys attending Oakland A’s games and going to the beach.

        RON GANTT, M. ENG, CSP, ARM, CET Vice President

        Ron is the lead Remote Instructor™ for our online courses, interacting with thousands of students around the country. He has in depth knowledge and experience in a complete range of topics, including hazardous materials/wastes, safety management systems, system safety, human factors, emergency response, confined space entry, and other OSHA, DOT, and EPA compliance. Ron is Vice President of Safety Compliance Management where he works with a variety of clients in a variety of industries achieve their health and safety goals. You’ll ramp up fast with Ron’s quick paced approach to training, program development and implementation.

        Ron holds undergraduate degrees in Occupational Safety and Health and Psychology and is pursuing a Master of Engineering degree in Advanced Safety Engineering and Management. He is a Board Certified Safety Professional, a Board Certified Environmental, Safety, and Health Trainer, and an Associate in Risk Management. He is a certified Incident Commander and  licensed Emergency Medical Technician. He is a regular speaker at national and regional conferences and a frequent author and co-author of articles on a variety of occupational safety and health and emergency management topics.

        Ron and his wife enjoy spending time with their dogs and his family.

        • EARL THOMAS
          EARL THOMAS Trainer/Consultant

          Earl Thomas, who has 34 years of experience in the environmental waste management and safety and health fields, retired from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2006 as a Permits and Regulatory Affairs Analyst.

          Earl currently serves as a consultant and instructor for SCM and facilitates a range of courses, such as advanced hazardous waste, DOT, IATA, IMDG, SPCC/APSA, and Hazwoper.

          He is well-known by State and local regulators and has been a featured speaker at three Certified Unified Program Agency conferences. Earl has also authored a 298-page technical juxtapose comparing Federal hazardous waste laws and regulations to those used in California.

          • PAUL GANTT, PH.D., CSP, CHST, CET
            PAUL GANTT, PH.D., CSP, CHST, CET President and Founder

            Paul Gantt is the President and founding member of SCM Safety with over 35 years of experience in the fields of safety and health and emergency response.  Before starting SCM Safety, Dr. Gantt worked in the fire service where he worked in several positions including Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Captain, Fire Battalion Chief, Training Officer, Fire Marshal, and Chief Officer.  Paul has undergraduate degrees in Fire Science and Public Administration.  He also has a Master’s Degree in Advanced Safety Engineering and Management, and a Ph.D, in Human Services.  He is also a Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT), and a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).  Paul is also one of the firm’s qualified expert witnesses and regularly works with attorneys providing legal services and testimony in a range of safety, health, regulatory compliance, and premises liability issues. When Paul is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and grandkids.  When he has the time to get away, his favorite place to go is Las Vegas to cheer on the Vegas Golden Knights hockey team!
