Paul W. Gantt

Our primary instructor and principle author of our course materials is Paul Gantt, from Safety Compliance Management.

Paul Gantt, who oversees the development, delivery, and management of the online training programs, has over 25 years of experience in the field of safety training and consulting, and emergency response. Paul works with the team from Safety Compliance Management who jointly develop online training programs for students throughout the United States.

His 15 years of experience working in the Fire Service provided the foundation of his knowledge and education. While in the Fire Service, Paul moved up through the ranks serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Captain, Battalion Chief, Training Officer, Fire Marshal and Chief Officer. During most of his Fire Service career, Paul worked in the area of training where he developed and delivered a range of training programs both within the departments where he worked, as well as through the community college system and through the Office of the State Fire Marshal where he is certified to instruct numerous safety, management, and response courses.

Since 1991, Paul has been the President of Safety Compliance Management, Inc. (SCM), located in Danville California. Paul has developed a national reputation as a recognized leader in the field of occupational health and safety, and emergency response. He is the author of a textbook covering a range of chemical safety and response titled "Hazardous Materials - Regulations, Response, and Site Operations", published by Delmar Publishers. This text is used by organizations throughout the country in chemical safety and response training and is used in our online 24-hour Hazwoper Occasional Site Worker course. It is one of the few books that effectively covers the entire range of topics mandated by the Hazwoper regulations.

SCM staff provide training and consultation services throughout the United States in all areas of occupational health and safety, and emergency response. Clients include the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Stanford University, Bayer Corporation, Chevron, Rhodia, Association of Bay Area Governments, and Hewlett Packard. Staff members have trained thousands of workers in the full range of Hazwoper programs.

Paul continues to work with organizations across the country in areas of occupational safety, chemical safety, regulatory compliance, and emergency response. His background and unique teaching style are brought into each of the training programs that he delivers including those on the Internet.
