diagram of lungsNot only does this course fulfill your OSHA annual Hazardous Waste Refresher (HAZWOPER) training requirement under 29 CFR 1910.120, it also gives you information that is applicable to what you do. When you choose this Refresher, you satisfy not only the requirement for your annual Refresher course but also the requirements under OSHA for workers who are required to wear respirators.

While a discussion of respiratory protection is a required element of every Hazwoper program, this course takes that discussion to the next level. By taking this course you will know how, when and where to use respiratory protection.

The Respiratory Protection module is based on the OSHA regulations as outlined in 29 CFR, Part 1910.134. Anyone who wears a respirator including some paper masks must be trained prior to wearing the respirator. The course helps to satisfy this requirement and will provide information to help you select the correct equipment, understand how to protect yourself, clean and maintain your equipment and what other requirements OSHA places on those who wear respirators. This course will take approximately eight hours and the Respiratory Protection module will consist of two of those hours and will work as either the initial training or annual refresher course that is required.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS CLASS?

Everyone who has taken the 24- or 40- hour OSHA Hazwoper course is required to take an eight-hour annual refresher course. Our course has been designed for workers in the wastewater treatment field. This self-paced program is full of interactive exercises and activities to help you meet that OSHA requirement, with the ability to take it as time permits.

Additionally, because this course has the emphasis on Respiratory Protection, those whose work involves potential occupational exposures and a need to wear respirators will receive the most up-to-date and relevant materials related to this protection.
