Do you have a job that puts you in contact with hazardous materials that are transported in any way? The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) has established a series of regulations governing training programs for what are termed Hazmat Employees. The DOT training program is sometimes referred to as HM-181 or HM-126 training.
HM-232 was newly created by the DOT in March 2003 in response to the increased amount of security threats to the United States. If you have received Hazmat Employee Training within the last three years and your training did not address Security Awareness, then you are out of compliance with HM-232 and this course would bring you into compliance with the regulation. If you need DOT Hazmat Employee training or you are seeking a three-year DOT refresher, then any of our other DOT courses would meet your needs and do include the HM-232 material.
A certificate documenting compliance with the DOT requirement is presented upon completion.
The structure and objectives of this course are centered on the requirements outlined in the DOT HM-232 regulation. Each unit is based on one or more of the following requirements. Upon completion of this program, the participants will have completed the following:
Students will complete 4 self-paced lessons, submit review questions, and take a test via electronic format. No text is required; all course materials are available online. The course will take approximately 1 hour to complete. Upon registration, you will receive a password via email, giving you access to the course contents at http://classes.hazmatschool.com/ .
What do you need to take this class at Hazmat School?![]()
Passing this course requires completing end-of-section review questions and completing the final test with a grade of 75% or better. There is no passing grade required for review questions. If you do not receive a grade of at least 75% on the final quiz, you may retake the quiz one more time up to a total of 2 times until you do.
The course is designed to be self-paced. You may stay enrolled in this one-hour class for up to one month. After one month, you will need to re-enroll. Upon successful completion of the course, click on the Send Certificate button, fill out the form, we will verify your work, and you will receive a certificate via email in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and 0.1 CEUs.
